Birds of Prey Animal Centre
New for 2011 is our King Arthurs Birds of Prey and Animal Centre in association with
Gauntlet Birds of Prey, Eagle and Vulture park, Knutsford. This remarkable area will allow our guests to get up close and learn all about these amazing birds. Witness daring flying displays by these awesome hunters from the skies, as swooping eagles, owls and falcons are put through their paces by highly trained falconers in a daily show to be held in the Arena.
As you enter the centre you will immediately come face to face with one of the most spectacular Birds of Prey, the Bald Eagle, a truly magnificent specimen!
As you wander around the centre you will see a variety of other equally impressive birds. Eagle Owls, Falcons, Harris Hawks and Kestrels. Visit our gallery to see pictures of these amazing birds.
Your favourite animals too!
As well as these magnificent birds the Centre is also home to some of your all time favourites such as rabbits, guinea pigs, mini
ponies, goats, pigs and ducks, and there will be plenty of babies born throughout the season to ooh and aah about.
In fact one of our special residents this season, courtesy of Sedgemoor Shire horse centre, will be Sedgemoor Arclid Adelaide, (Addy) a six year old black Shire horse who will be showing off her new foal who is due to be born in March.
Our special Ferret Court will keep you captivated. Did you know when excited, these animals may perform a routine commonly referred to as the weasel war dance? Characterised by a frenzied series of sideways hops and bumping into things this is often accompanied by a soft clucking noise, commonly referred to as dooking.
Before you leave the centre don’t forget to visit our Information point which
will house a display of all the equipment the Falconers use to train the birds such as hoods and straps.
