Become a knight for the day
Wednesday, June 9th, 2010
Camelot Theme Park is offering the Northwest’s little princes and princesses the chance to become a knight for the day.
We are looking for keen Knights, boys and girls, between the ages of 6 and 12 who have a real interest in all things medieval. Knight School will take place on Saturday 17th July and will teach the youngsters the art of knights’ combat and about the weaponry used, how to prepare as a knight for battle, dress the horses for the jousting tournament, plus some amazing juggling skills courtesy of Camelot’s very own Jester.
“This is our third Knight School event and every year the number of children wanting to attend increases. Children and adults alike love our jousting show and that’s where the idea for knight school came from and Give children a sneaky behind the scenes look at how King Arthur and his knights prepare for battle,” comments Camelot’s Marketing Manager, Sandra Dempsey.
King Arthur will be enrolling 30 children from all over the North West in this year’s Knight School. Youngsters who would like to attend simply have to write to King Arthur and tell him in no more than fifty word why they think they should be chosen for a place at Camelot’s Knight School. Parents, guardians and friends can also nominate a child they know.
King Arthurs’ ‘Knight School’ will be held on Saturday 17th July and with limited spaces available the battle for places is expected to be fierce!
To enter please include your name, age, address and a daytime contact number to King Arthur, Knight School, Alexander House, Station Brow, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 3NZ. Or e-mail knights@mtjpr.co.uk for more details. The closing date for entries is Friday 25th June 2010.
Winners will be notified by email or telephone by 1st July and offered the chance to take up their place. They will be able to attend the park free of charge with up to three members of their family on Saturday 17th July and will attend the Knight School runs from 10.30 – 11.30am and each graduate will be awarded a Knight School certificate.
